Celebrating International Women's Day - Creating Daily Rituals

Creating Daily Rituals

Daily rituals help calm the nervous system. As women, I believe we must intentionally make time for ourselves. In a world full of noise, unrealistic expectations, and constant judgment - both from others and from ourselves - returning to our centre is more important than ever.

The pursuit of perfection is a fruitless search. All it creates is a false sense of self, because the truth is, we were never meant to be perfect. Life is, at times, chaotic, challenging, and triggering. How else would we grow and expand if we rested on our laurels?

In order to build our legacies and live our life’s purpose, we must take time to truly get to know ourselves - who we really are, not how we think others want to see us, but how we want to see ourselves. One of the simplest ways to do this is by creating time for ourselves without guilt. Time that, as women, we all deserve.

When life presents both opportunities and challenges, daily rituals help build a solid foundation. They support our nervous system in feeling safe enough to move through difficulty, while also giving us the courage to step forward and embrace opportunities without allowing fear to take over.

When we truly know ourselves in all of our imperfections - when we love ourselves as deeply as we love others and offer ourselves the same grace we so easily give away - we begin to realise that we are already whole. In that moment, the need to seek validation from others begins to fall away.

This is what I would tell my twenty-year-old self, and it has been one of my greatest learnings so far. Introducing daily rituals into my life - simple moments that bring me joy - has helped regulate my nervous system, reduced my anxiety, and allowed me to show up for my family and friends with far more presence because I am no longer trying to be anything other than myself.

Because rituals are such a personal experience, I invited members of our team to share the small practices that bring them back to themselves each day...

Estiana Risna
Production Manager

“For me, balance comes from the simple moments - daily cuddles with my cats (non-negotiable), a morning matcha, and reformer Pilates a couple of times a week.”

Casey Scorringe
Customer Service & Sales

“Each day I try to carve out a small window to walk along the beach or boardwalk. This little ritual of fresh air and time to myself is where I find my daily spark of happiness.”

Hannah Souter
Hannah (Design Studio)

"The ritual that grounds me most at the moment is starting each day with a walk along the beach to get coffee, no music, feet in the sand. It’s a quiet moment to reset before the day begins - and more often than not, it’s where my best ideas come to mind.”

Leanne Wild
Customer Service

“My morning ritual is my cup of tea. I always make time to sit and drink it slowly before the day begins. Lately, my favourite has been dandelion and chicory root - a small moment just for me before everything else.”

Madison Stevenson
Sales Manager

“In the mornings, I wake up an hour before my family, finding stillness in a cup of coffee and a few chapters of my current book. Small rituals like this - or a soothing bath at night - ground me and remind me that these simple acts, when fully embraced, bring me back to myself.”

Emma Winter
Creative Director

“One ritual I’ve been loving lately is stopping to notice flowers. Their quiet beauty and delicate shapes in full bloom remind me to slow down and return to the present moment.”
