La Tribe Sunflowers - Growing Instructions

To celebrate, throughout September we’ll include a packet of sunflower seeds with every purchase. We chose a particularly beautiful and unusual variety, quite different from the traditional sunflower.

Plant them for yourself or with someone you love, and enjoy the simple ritual of watching something grow. When they eventually bloom, we hope they bring a little unexpected joy to you and to everyone who passes them.

A small gesture towards the new light, and our way of welcoming spring.

DIRECT SOW INSTRUCTIONS

Prepare
Choose a sunny position with well-draining soil. Gently turn the earth and enrich with a little compost or organic matter if needed. Rake through to create a soft, even surface ready for planting.

Sow
Sow your seeds directly into the soil, spacing them evenly. Cover lightly with earth — no deeper than twice the width of the seed — then gently press the surface to settle them in.

Water
Water with a fine, gentle spray until the soil is evenly damp. Take care not to flood or disturb the freshly planted seeds.

Make Space
Once your seedlings reach around 6cm and their first true leaves appear, gently thin them out, leaving the strongest plants with enough space to flourish.

Nurture
Keep the earth consistently moist, but never saturated, while your sunflowers establish themselves. Watering earlier in the day is best, allowing the leaves and soil surface time to dry naturally.

Then, a little patience.
Turn towards the light and let nature do the rest.
