Known for her love of glowing skin and minimalist approach to hair and make up, we caught up with Alex on the set of our latest shoot to get her hot tips on creating the perfect, dewy base and how to achieve those perfectly "undone" brows.
La Tribe: Can you run us through the key products you've used to create the beautiful La Tribe glowing looks?
Start with Go To Face Hero Oil, massaged into the skin to hydrate.
- Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask. This product works so well as a moisturiser and primer.
- Hourglass Vanish Concealer buffed softly across the face.
- Hourglass Bronzer on eyes and cheeks and Hourglass Ambient Palette to control shine.
Tell us about the inspiration for these shoots? and any tips you may have on recreating this look at home?
I am all for dewy skin and soft tones on the focus points of the face. This is the beauty look I envision the La Tribe girl to have. Off duty, effortless and glowing.
At home, skincare is the key step. Prepping your skin with beautiful hydrating products will create a dewy finish and also gives your make up longevity when wearing all day. Also try using a product in a few ways - I love to use a bronzer as eyeshadow.
What would we find more of in your bathroom cabinet: Make up or skincare?
As much as I love make up, I am more drawn to skincare. As I've got older I've realised the importance of skin care and having a good skin regime in the mornings and evenings. I love anything Byredo, Summer Fridays, Go-To and Drunk Elephant (to name a few!)
What's one product you can't live without during the summer months?
I can't choose one.. It would have to be a brow gel and a face serum/ oil.
I keep my makeup very soft and low maintenance in summer, but I love a groomed brow. Our skin gets a lot of salt and sun during the summer months so I love to use a face oil to keep the skin hydrated and healthy. Don't forget SPF too!
What are your 3 secret weapons to keeping make up fresh in warmer weather?
A face oil/ serum
A soft setting powder to control any unwanted shine
Tinted lip balm - add a little colour whilst keeping them hydrated and glossy.
